City Council Meeting: 05/03/10

With an adjournment time of 7:51pm, tonight's Council Meeting was the fastest in recent history.  An intergovernmental agreement between the City and the State of Illinois was advanced to second reading and passed unanimously.  The State will be spending millions to upgrade Des Plaines River Road in anticipation of the casino at River and Devon (Daily Herald Article).  In return, the City will take control of the thoroughfare.  Former Mayor Michael Albrecht was appointed and Debra Lester was reappointed to the Fire and Police Commission.
