The City of Des Plaines has received notification that the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will host a series of public meetings to further help with the development of the GO TO 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan. The GO TO 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan will be based on a diverse and coordinated set of strategies to address area projected population growth of more than 2 million new residents over the next thirty years.
The plan, nearing completion and anticipated to be implemented in October 2010, will address transportation, housing, economic development, open space, the environment, and other quality-of-life issues. Between June 11 and August 6, 2010, CMAP will be holding open meetings across the region to present the draft GO TO 2040 plan. Consider attending the following op[en meeting to hear about GO TO 2040’s major policy recommendations and provide input:
